BACKGROUND

  • Second generation farm, first purchased in 1973.
  • Fraser leases the majority from his father as well as owning part of it.
  • Challenging terrain – 1000 metres above sea level at the top and 300 metres above sea level at the bottom.
  • Sheep and beef farm running 3300 ewes, 150 in calf cows plus a mixture of steers and bulls.
  • Majority of the bulls are sent to slaughter at 18-months-old, replacement heifers retained and cull heifers sent to slaughter at 2.5 years.
